Bulletproof Coffee

Bulletproof coffee.

Have you heard of it? I heard about it before but never really paid much attention until I watched this Periscope video last week by my friend, Stacy, at Stacy Makes Cents. I have been following Stacy for awhile now and I really trust her recommendations. Her and her husband have a heart for helping people get out of debt and to live intentionally. If you don't follow her, you should.

After watching the video I gave it a try and I LOVE IT. I have always struggled with how to get enough coconut oil in my diet. My husband isn't quite on board with the whole coconut oil thing so I don't have a lot of chances to use it. Well, in just the past week, I have started oil pulling and making bullet proof coffee with it!

I always try to research things before I try and them and there are conflicting posts out there on the bulletproof coffee. Some people say you should not be having that much saturated fat at one time. I like what Shaye Elliott at The Elliott Homestead said in her video last week. "In this house we have a saying, fear the fakes not the fat." -Shaye Elliott. So for right now I am going to go with that.

Guys, this coffee is amazing. The first cup I made I put a little bit of maple syrup in it to sweeten it, but that rest of the week I drank it with just the butter and coconut oil.

Here's how to make it.

Brew a cup of coffee

While it is brewing, put one tablespoon of butter and one tablespoon of coconut oil in a tall mason jar

Pour hot coffee on top of that and add your sweetener if you want some

Take your immersion blender and pulse it a few times to get it all mixed well. If you don't do this the fat will float to the top

Enjoy!

I had this for breakfast a few time this past week when we were busy and I didn't have time to sit down and eat. I also have been using it as a snack. It really suppresses your appetite with all that good fat in it. I have noticed that my skin has not broken out at all this week and I lost a couple pounds even though I started my monthly cycle yesterday!

What about you all? Have you heard of it? Tried it? Good results? Bad results? Comment below! I would love to hear from you.
